Purpose/Mission Statement

The purpose of this blog is to give MK girls a place to connect.  Globally.  A place to share joys, sorrows, excitement, and anger.  A place to make friends.  Ali lives in Cameroon, West Africa, and Aby lives in La Paz, Mexico.  Our families were at a mission's conference one time, and we became friends.  After spending a week together, and talking one night for almost four hours, we decided that this was something we all need.  A place to share our stories.  The good, the bad, and the ugly.  Not to mention the funny and sarcastic ones, too.  A place to grow, and also to connect and learn.  Neither of us are professionals or certified.  Not by a long shot.  But the experience of being connected globally is great.

So, we have a couple different types of posts.  They are:

  • Stories
  • Furlough
  • On the Field
  • Chat Room
  • Mailbag
  • Challenges

Stories:
Just that.  Stories we've heard from other people or experienced that we find funny or serious, or just plain want to share.  Most of this section will be stories that you guys email us, so if you have something please fill this section!

Furlough:
We all go on furlough! (Well, some people call it home assignment, but same diff)  These are tips to make it as easy and smooth as it can be.  Not to say it won't be rough, but why not make it better?

On the Field:
Furlough is great and all, but that only happens once and awhile.  On the field, we have a whole different set of struggles needing to be addressed.

Chat Room:
Ok, so this is just a heading and a question, and then the plan is just to comment a ton and have a good conversation about anything and everything.

Challenges:
This is us trying to help you guys out a little with something goofy, serious, funny, or bizarre.

Mailbag:
If you have a post idea, need help on any specific problem, have a story, etc., email!  We dare you!  😋
But seriously, any questions, comments, suggestions, we'd love to hear from you!  And please, we want to hear from you!  We don't know what you guys want to hear about, so we're going to bumbling until you email!

-Ali, Aby, and Kate

  1. What a great idea! I've been an MK all my life--I've lived in Benin, Cameroon, and now South Africa, so this is an encouragement to me. What a great way to share the struggles as well as the joys of missionary life and a great way to meet other MKs!
